-----------------
In 1907, the Webb Publishing Company in St. Paul, Minnesota,
created The Farmer's Wife Pony Club. Children who joined
competed for prizes by selling subscriptions to
The Farmer's Wife magazine.

The grand prize was a Shetland pony with a saddle
and often a carriage. To satisfy skeptics who
doubted a child would, indeed, receive a pony,
they asked the winners to send
photographs of themselves with their ponies.

Thankfully, many of the children also sent in
letters along with their photographs.
These endearing, poignant, and sometimes
hilarious letters provide a unique window into
the lives of children and their families in
America in the early 1900s.

Additional

Most of our fabric is priced by the 1/2 yard or panel section
and cut to order from the bolt in one continuous piece.

Quilt kits are cut to yardage, include the instructions, and all fabric to make the quilt top and binding. It may not match the suggested cut list from the manufacturer - we keep our kits affordable. Backing for quilt kits is not included.

We're happy to consider custom orders, and if you don't see a fabric you would like, let us know! We may be able to find it for you.
